Wandile Masango

Wandile Masango obtained his LLB in 2020, and LLM in 2022 from University of Pretoria (UP). His LLM research focused on the relationship between competition law and constitutional law. More particularly, the duty of competition authorities to observe their constitutional duty to uphold the Bill of Rights when evaluating proposed merger-transactions. Wandile is a human rights and transformation enthusiast. During his tenure in UP, he participated in various organizations including the UP-Law Clinic (2020); Sikelela Scholars UP; Amnesty International UP and The National Association Democratic Lawyers Students Chapter UP, which he served as Chairperson between 2019 and 2020. Between 2021 and 2023, Wandile worked as a legal intern at the Competition Commission of South Africa (CCSA).

This gave him an opportunity to work closely with experienced economists and attorneys. His duties included analyzing and preparing case reports on assigned M&A matters, conducting legal/economic research, attending regional and international engagements (under IR), and drafting various legal documents. In May 2022, Wandile completed his Practical Legal Training with LSSALEAD, and proceeded to complete the attorney’s entry exams in August of the same year. He commenced his candidate attorney articles with Rantho & Associates Incorporated in 2024, and he has interest in Corporate and Commercial Law, Administrative law and Constitutional law. He is a passionate, organised, and hard-working individual, who possess the skill to think innovative and produce optimal results with given resources.
